All six episodes are now available for viewing online. BMW did the exact same idea 9 years ago with their then-new Z4 roadster. They made a series of high production-quality short films starring Clive Owen, and from what I remember, the short films were a hit. I think Audi is trying the exact same thing today, hoping to stir up some interest in their A1 just as BMW did 9 years ago.

Why wouldn’t Audi create its own ads “Audi Films”? BMW did it a long time ago and they were very successful at doing so. Now Audi has a new 6-part series starting Justin Timberlake and Dania Ramirez. The first episode laid the foundation for “the next big thing” as Justin (John) is forced to “get-away” in an Audi A1 S-Line which has not been confirmed for the U.S. as of yet. Check out parts one, two and three of the action packed series below.

Well, on that episode, it seems those Justin guns is fakes and almost make him surrender but good thing he absolutely does the right way. The A1 mini-series really has some cool story and is going to wait the next episode.

Nice try Audi, it was a steep hill to climb following in the footsteps of BMW’s film series ‘The Hire’, but we’d have chosen a campaign with more of a cheeky and humorous style to it, one that ‘involved’ users and played off some of the rivalries with BMW and their Mini.

[X6 because of incorrect tire pressure labels. The 2011 model year has barely begun and already two 2011 BMW models are being recalled. BMW has issued a recall for 2011 X5 and X6 models built between April first and May 10 in Washington. The vehicles are equipped with 20-inch wheels, but the label states that the vehicles are equipped with 19-inch wheels.

Interestingly, BMW said it does not yet know how many vehicles are affected by the recall. For those who are using that type of car better check immediately. Tires improperly inflated can cause poor vehicle handling or even blowouts, both of which can lead to accidents.

Kicking Tires says the recalled SUVs “have tire labels that don’t meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, ‘Tire Selection and Rims.’ While the vehicles are equipped with 20-inch wheels, the labels say they’re equipped with 19-inch wheels, which makes the required tire pressure incorrect, as well.”

The Fix: BMW will notify owners and provide free replacement labels. Owners can either apply the sticker themselves, or take their X5 or X6 to a local dealer for installation.

<object<br

The VW boss Martin Winterkorn has said that”

“There are some who knock at our door. Some really want to come under our roof as they see we’re on a good path strategically. But we are satisfied with the current line-up. I don’t see any need [for new deals],” Prof Dr Winterkorn said at the time.

Volkswagen told that not just only the company Proton has been discussing partnership opportunities with, and both Mitsubishi and Renault have been approached. Source from the edge told, Proton also mention that Proton could use some of its spare capacity to assemble VW cars. The companies that were mentioned as potential partners include General Motors Co. and PSA/Peugeot-Citroen.

Malaysia maintains tariff controls that make foreign cars cost a lot higher than Proton’s local product. Last October, the Malaysian government said that the search is ongoing for a foreign partner for Proton. It was announced last year that foreign carmakers are permitted to have 100% ownership of ventures that make cars worth more than 150,000 ringgit ($45,250).

According to Bloomberg BusinessWeek, VW is not likely to take a stake in Proton despite last year’s policy shift by the Malaysian government allowing foreign firms to own majority stakes in mainstream Malaysian automakers. Proton was founded as a joint venture between the Malaysian state-owned firm Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and Mitsubishi.

Proton just posted a $72m profit for the fiscal year ending in March, after losing some $90m last year despite strong protectionist tariffs imposed by the Malaysian government. Or is that because of protectionist tariffs? Proton’s market share has been in decline for years now, thanks to government subsidies of its outdated designs. Perodua passed Proton in 2005 as the best-selling domestic Malaysian automaker, with over 40 percent of the market. Between 2002 and 2005, Proton’s Malaysian market share fell from 60 percent to barely 30 percent.

But lately, talks between Volkswagen and Proton have broken down without the two sides coming to an agreement on a partnership, according to multiple published reports.

The dive in Proton’s shares during Asian stock trading appears to demonstrate investor uncertainty in the company’s ability to grow and develop. “Proton’s need for a strategic partner to leverage on to enter the global export market is crucial at this juncture before Proton gets further left behind by the competition,” firm OSK Research told Forbes.

Proton said it would continue to pursue its “multi-local OEM” strategy in Asia, including local assembly in key emerging developing markets, as well as its technology partnership with Mitsubishi Motors.

And for conclusion thanks to morondetector comment from paultan blog:

If Proton couldn’t survive because the management is incompetent and couldn’t compete with other car-makers, the workers should blame them. Why are you so proud of the fact that Malaysians continue to pay high prices for substandard cars in order for a few thousand people to have work? You sounded like a naive and ignorant kid who thinks that world owe every one a living. it is the stupid govt policy which pampered Proton for many years and make them uncompetitive and if its fail and the workers cannot work, the govt is fully responsible for the current state of affairs and let’s not get me started on the manufacturer of OEM parts that supply only to Proton as though they cannot survive without Proton. They never bother to enhance their quality in order to expand their market to overseas… Who can they blame? I suspect you are a business owner of one of those leeching OEM makers or else you won’t be talking like you owe them a living. Nobody owes PROTON a living or owes PROTON survival. Why Nissan did use the Merc powertrain? As for your info, this leaves three options for the next generation Z. The first is a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid set-up used in Mercedes S400. This option provides 299hp and 284 ft.-lb. of torque. The next option is the V6 from the E350 CDI with an output of 170 kW/231 hp. Finally, the four-cylinder petrol in combination with a 15 KW compact electric motor from the forthcoming E300 Bluetec. This option delivers a total of 224 hp and a torque of over 580 Nm. However, Nissan also has under consideration the same engine used in the <a<br

In exchange, Renault-Nissan will receive four, six and eight-cylinder powerplants. Last but not least, Nissan executives are thinking of using the Mercedes-Benz Diesottoe engine, which brings together diesel and gasoline to power vehicles as large as an S-Class sedan from just 1.8L.

Nissan has yet to confirm these reports and with the next-generation Z still a few years off, planning is likely still in the early stages. Still, reports of gasoline and diesel 4 and 6-cylinder engines being used in the next generation Infiniti G have become prevalent – suggesting a hybrid or diesel Z is a possibility.

Fifth Gear – Nissan 370Z:<br<br

For electric vehicle, losing pounds can also be a key to meet its upcoming CAFÉ regulations and also help increase the range it can travel. When I read autoblog, a new report was made by Toyota and reported in Ward’s Auto suggests that this material has some downsides that make it a questionable choice for going green.

You know why, carbon fiber is the lightest material rather than aluminum and magnesium. That’s why many big automakers industry like BMW and Merc are leading the way in using carbon fiber. For example, 2013 BMW choose carbon fiber to outfit its Megacity electric vehicle with a carbon body. Plus with other European and Asianstarted to experimenting with new manufacturing and fabricating techniques to lower the material’s high cost.

The sources from Toyota said that carbon fiber production creates more CO2 per pound than any other automotive material in use today.

I think there have a lot of benefit from carbon fiber. It is includes carbon fiber may not need to be painted. The other materials always do. How much are we shaving off in terms of fumes and vapors (VOC’s), cost, transportation of the paint and solvent, electricity both to apply it and for heat lamps to dry it, etc? Carbon fiber does not need an anti-rust soak. The other materials do. Same variables there. Also with carbon fiber body part can improve your fuel mileage, right (correct me if I’m wrong).

For those interested, here is a video from ages ago proving that carbon fiber can be molded into car parts rapidly. Even this prototype is impressive. The technology will improve greatly moving forward.<br<br

Excluding Game Boy Advance and Virtual Console sales, the game has sold 40.241 million copies worldwide. It was largely responsible for the initial success of the Nintendo Entertainment System, as well as ending the two-year slump of video game sales in the United States after the video game crash of 1983. As one of Shigeru Miyamoto’s most influential early successes, it has inspired many clones, sequels, and spin-offs. Its theme music by Koji Kondo is recognized worldwide, even by those who have not played the game, and has been considered a representation for video game music in general.

Now, they are launching the new super Mario broswii. Let’s checkout their website at <a<br

The video below provides an amazing view of how BMW transformed the busy Suntec City Towers 2 & 3 in Singapore to a symbol of true Joy. This is really amazing!

BMW wants to focus future advertising dollars on 3D television, which they view as a great medium for getting the BMW message across. To test the public perception of 3D video ads, the German automaker chose to project a simplistic 3D video on a pair of Singapore office buildings. Why use office buildings for the media stunt? Because, per the ad, work should bring you joy. The buildings symbolize work, and BMW symbolizes joy.

As you can tell from the crowd, BMW must have spent some serious effort promoting this video. Somehow, I don’t see 3D video ads on buildings working in the United States; can you imagine the lawsuits BMW would get over multi-car accidents caused by gawking drivers? Joy is BMW just doesnt have a ring to it. Joy is Kia maybe what with their current advertising lately and styling.
Maybe Ultimate Driving Joy… But I dunno…But on that ad spot… Wow I’m impressed kudos to BMW for doing this.

The clips are two minutes long. The ad combines, under the BMW Joy 3D tagline, BMW vehicles, existing BMW ads, urban art and classic video games like Pacman and Pong.

BMW JOY 3D: Asia ist interactive 3D building ad<br<br
